What instant testing means in practice
- You collect the sample — gum swab, fingerstick or vaginal swab.
- The test runs in 15 to 40 minutes depending on the test.
- You read your own result from the instruction card.
- No sample leaves your home and no result is transmitted anywhere.
What it is genuinely good at
- Answering a specific worry quickly, without an appointment.
- Removing the conversation barrier for people testing for the first time.
- Privacy — plain packaging, guest checkout, no stored results.
Its honest limits
- Screening only. Reactive results need clinical confirmation.
- Timing-sensitive: testing inside a window period can miss an infection.
- Site- and anatomy-specific: no throat or rectal testing, and no instant chlamydia or gonorrhea option for people with a penis.
